Dr Diana Craciunescu
Dr Diana Craciunescu received her MD degree from the University of Montreal in 2009 and completed her residency at St-Mary’s Hospital, McGill University in 2011. She then worked in the Emergency Department for 7 years mostly in community-based Quebec hospitals and rural areas. She treated and managed critical care cases as well as traumas, and treated patients from all walks of life, most of which were seriously ill with multiple co-morbidities. She always aimed to give her best and practiced state of the art evidenced based medicine which she individualized to the unique patient she was caring for. As an additional challenge, she was drawn to the remote rural regions of Quebec and practice rural medicine in the Baie James area 6 weeks a year, for 7 years. That unique experience allowed her to sharpen her clinical acumen and treat patients more clinically than ever before due to the scarcity of ressources and the remote location of the practice..
In the last 2 years of her practice she became more and more interested in preventative and lifestyle medicine in order to help her patients prevent and even reverse some of their chronic illnesses and ultimately not need to present to the emergency department at all. She recently completed a qualification as an Aromatherapist as part of her growing interest to address health more naturally. She is constantly researching better ways to prevent, treat, manage and reverse disease processes.
Aside from prevention, her two current areas of interest are women’s health and gastro-intestinal health. Women’s health has always been a keen interest to Dr Craciunescu. She is very comfortable with Pap tests, STD screening, IUD placement and removal, contraception and breast pathologies. She also believes that “we are what we eat, what we can digest and what we can absorb and we are what we cannot eliminate”. “True health starts at the tip of your fork “ and therefore special interest will be paid to your diet.
